Quarantine Diaries

Casey Aviva Jobin-Leeds
(music video, prints, zines and visual poem)

I am an activist, artist, performer, and musician from Cambridge, Massachusetts. I come from a legacy of immigrants who were involved in Public Health, Engineering, Public Education, Civil Rights and Activism. I have been involved in organizing in Massachusetts and New York with groups that strive for the rights of Immigrant, Indigenous, and Black peoples to be respected. In New York, I worked as a teaching artist and performer. Post-graduation, I will be landscaping and doing remote fashion design commissions until it is safer. I look forward to traveling and finding work in a Print Shop whenever that may be! Eventually I plan on settling down and seeking clinical work and a Master's Degree in Music Therapy.

I am inspired by political artists, writers and collectives such as Agitarte, the Zapatistas, Reverend Sekou, Malcolm X, Audre Lorde, Angela Davis, Sojourner Truth, Nina Simone, Ana Tijoux, Rebel Diaz, Calle 13, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, and Common.

"They tried to bury us. They didn't
know we were seeds."
