Returning home due to the pandemic lead to me spending a lot of time wondering about how things will change and when they will change. I had come to spend much of my time looking out my bedroom window wondering and watching time pass—but, feeling stuck. I soon became entranced by how the clouds never stopped moving and changing. If I just left my room to get a glass of water and came back, the view would be entirely different.
I start charting the time passing by taking pictures of the clouds every day and making my parents sit down at night to overlook what I had captured. The clouds had become a symbol of hope for me. These collages are my want and need for change, and finding that in the clouds. If none of this makes sense, play the song “Yesterday” by The Beatles while gazing at them. In that way, you enter my world while creating them.
