feeding myself: curing the hunger that grows at home

(mixed media)

When we are separated from others, what is revealed about the self? What do we miss, crave, and yearn for? How can we adapt to fulfill our own needs?

With the onset of COVID-19 in the spring of 2020, the world has been forced to retreat, spreading isolation like a virus. My art has been influenced by the social and environmental changes that have occurred over the past few months, completely shifting my original capstone concept. As I remain at home, I have been documenting my personal experience of this pandemic through the arts. Feeding myself is a collection of photographs, haikus, and personal anecdotes that explore my experience in the format of a virtual book.
